Martin Wood
Martin has recently managed the writing of the authoritative Guide to Interim Executive Management for the CBI. He was a Key Note speaker at the First European Conference on interim management and called as an ‘expert witness’ on interim management practice.
A pioneer of the industry, Martin Wood, in 1990, founded PA Interim Management (an ‘outsourced’ service of PA Consulting Group) which he ran for six years before leaving to establish BIE Interim Executive. BIE is the UK’s leading specialist practice.
Tim Blackstone
Tim Blackstone is a high-achieving Managing Director and CEO with experience of operating at board and senior management levels within major FMCG and financial services multi-national corporations. He joins from a specialist Executive Search and Interim Management provider where he was a Client Services Director. Prior to that Tim was the UK CEO of the US management consultancy company De Novo and before this position he was a UK board member of Service Corporation UK.
Julia Candlish
Acknowledged as one of the most experienced senior-level interim management consultants in the UK, Julia Candlish has specialised in this sector for eleven years — initially with PA Interim Management. She has personally undertaken several hundred assignments for organisations ranging from major plc’s undergoing substantial change and transition on a global basis, to public sector organisations requiring commercially orientated expertise during major cultural or structural change.

Stuart Cain
Stuart has been a specialist interim management consultant since 1996 and has undertaken over 200 assignments in the Public and Private sectors. He spent 10 years as Managing Director (4 years as an interim) leading 5 turnarounds (software, packing, furniture and freight-forwarding) — the last 2 in Spain and Denmark working for David James. His early career was in France and Middle East working as a Drilling Engineer. After Stanford Business School, he spent 5 years in B2B marketing of technical products.
Steve Dengel
Steve Dengel has been a specialist consultant in interim management for over 5 years with a significant number of wide ranging senior placements to his name, across all sectors and functions.
In the relatively early days of interim management he was one of the industry's early pioneers of its application at senior level within the UK Regions. His background includes some 20 years in senior Sales and Marketing roles in the business to business service sector, including periods at Hays and Sketchley.
Located in the Midlands, he expands BIE's presence outside its central London operation.
Sue Smith
As a specialist interim management provider, Sue has spent the last three years focusing on the functional areas of finance, general management and operations. Working with a client base ranging from SME's through to FTSE 50 companies, she has successfully delivered both UK and European based assignments. Sue's background includes 20 years in Finance with a wide range of sectors including property, engineering and services industries. Based in the Thames Valley, she strengthens BIE's presence in the South and Southwest regions.
Nick Diprose
Nick is a graduate in International Business and Modern Languages from UK and French business schools.
Following commercial roles with a FTSE 100 plc, Nick has established a strong reputation for successfully delivering a wide range of UK and international assignments for clients including VC and Private Equity backed firms to large listed UK, US and European companies.
Deborah O'Donovan
Deborah O’Donovan has specialised in senior interim management placements for the past six years with a particular focus on the Financial Services Sector and Programme Management.
Based in London, Deborah has successfully delivered interim solutions to clients across the UK and Europe and previously worked in Hong Kong. With an Honours degree in European Finance & Accounting with German, she is now extending her knowledge of languages by getting to grips with Mandarin.
